Music Monday: “Old Siam, Sir”

I debated about skipping Music Monday this week before (obviously) deciding to make the post. Today is Day 4 of the challenge: a song by a band you wish was still together. This is Wings, from 1979’s “Back to the Egg” album. The personnel are Paul McCartney (bass and vocals), Denny Laine (rhythm guitar), Linda McCartney (piano), Laurence Juber (lead guitar) and Steve Holley (drums). This was the year Laurence became my favorite guitarist, and he remains so to this day.

  1. Kind of a forgotten album today- I remember getting three albums on one trip to the record store in early June 1979- which was a big deal for me at the time being 18 years old. “Back To The Egg” and the second albums from Dire Straits and The Cars. “Back To The Egg” remains my favorite. No big hits on it but a solid album!
